Terms and Conditions

All jewellery by Maria Lau is handmade and finished within the UK in the designer's studio.


These terms and conditions apply to all orders placed on this website. By placing an order from the Maria Lau online store you will acknowledge and agree to these terms and conditions.


Maria Lau holds the right to withdraw from any sale in the occurrence of any errors or inaccuracies relating to the goods appearing on this store. If an error does occur we will contact you by e-mail to inform you of this.


If there is any inaccuracy with the price of a purchase you will be emailed and informed of this and asked if you wish to continue with the order at the amended price, or if you wish to cancel the order completely. If we cannot contact you or receive no response we will cancel the order until further notice.


Maria Lau may withdraw your order in the occurrence of events such as, being unable to obtain authorisation for payment, mailing restrictions applying to a particular item, the item ordered is out of stock or does not satisfy our quality control standards.


Please note that there may be slight variations in size from the images and description on the shop as every piece is handmade. The colour of images on the shop will vary depending on the quality and resolution of your computer screen. We will not be responsible for any variations in size or colour.



For payment we accept Paypal, or you can pay directly using your credit card. We must receive full payment for your order before it will be processed. If this payment is not received within 3 days of the order it will be automatically cancelled unless you have contacted us. Once we have received your payment you will receive an email confirmation. In the event of your card issuer refusing to authorise payment, we will not be responsible for any delays or non-delivery of your order.



The purchased item(s) will be delivered to the address stated at the time of order. All orders made for the UK and Channel Islands will be sent via Royal Mail Special Delivery, which includes insurance. In some cases we may choose to use a courier service but we will inform you of this. A signature will be taken at the delivery address, please note that this will not necessarily be the addressee.


All orders will be dispatched within 5 working days, although during busier periods and holidays such as fashion week schedules etc there may be a delay. We will endeavour to inform you of any such delays and any other problems relating to payments or delivery. We are not responsible for payment of customs duties and local taxes where required, it is recommended that you check with your local customs officials or post office for information regarding importation taxes/duties before ordering from outside the UK.



Maria Lau wants you to be happy with your purchase. If for any reason you are not happy with the purchase, please email shop@marialau.co.uk within 24 hrs to explain the problem. We will happily exchange your item and offer a credit for any difference in cost. Please note that we are unable to accept returns unless there is a fault with the item. Returns and repairs are valid within 30 days of purchase.



Any information you share with us will not be passed on to third parties and will be used strictly for the use of this purchase. We will however be adding you to the Maria Lau mailing list, where we will send you information from time to time relating to Maria Lau news, events and offers. If you wish to opt out of this please message us at shop@marialau.co.uk.



We may change or modify these terms and conditions at any time, and your continued use of this site following such change shall signify your agreement to be bound by the modified terms and conditions. Please read the terms and conditions and check back regularly .
